One of our adult grandsons asked for a quilt for his new bed. He wanted a quilt that was "modern" and bright. I invaded the quilt shop and came home with fabrics that I really like and thought were perfect. Then I pulled out a quilt pattern that I had purchased at the Quilt Expo last fall. Pattern was too small so I proceeded to try and enlarge for a queen size bed. Cut fabrics, sewed fabrics, put on design wall. A disaster! Terrible looking! So I ripped it apart and decided I would make a string quilt using all the purchased fabrics plus what I could pull from my stash. Now I am down to the last section and I can see daylight at the end of the tunnel. Maybe by March I will have it finished for that sweet young man.

  1. Wow, Dot! what a project! Looks like it is going to turn out beautiful! Hope you are doing well in this cold weather!

  2. I am sure he will like it as it's what he ordered. I love the mutiple colors you used.

  3. I love the colors. Soon I will post the string quilt I am working on for my granddaughter, Lorelei.

  4. Looks great already, good luck finishing it.
