Progress

This was a list of unfinished quilt projects that I wrote the beginning of 2011.   Two years later I reviewed the list and was pleasantly surprised to find that most of the quilt projects have been completed or near completion.   I would love to get the finished quilt tops quilted in 2013.  And of course I now have new projects that I started in 2012 and have not finished and they will be on my 2013 unfinished project list.  Happy quilting in 2013.

Design Wall November 12 2012

Another UFO has been pulled out and I started working on it this weekend.  I think I need some practice taking pictures!  Dresden Plate design has twenty blocks and probably another border.

Halloween Boy

Are these not the cutest Halloween pants for a cute four month old?  Our great grandson is going to all decked out tonight.

This is a picture of my "Sweetman" before his illness.  Monday God was very good to him and called him home.  He did not have to go into a nursing home which I am so happy over.  He was one of the most decent men I have ever known.  He loved his family and he was the best husband and dad any family could wish for.  And oh how he loved those eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He served the Lord all of his life.  We miss him already but we had eighteen months to prepare for this journey.  God has been so good to me, his wife.  There were two things I prayed for daily:  One to keep me healthy so I could take care of him at home and two that God would be loving and merciful to him and call him home before he became bedridden.  God did both and I give God all the glory and honor for His answer to my prayers.

The funeral is Sunday and then Monday a new lifestyle begins for me.  I will make it because that is what my Sweetman would want me to do.

God said to love each other and that is what we did for almost 57 years.

Finished at Last

This is a picture of a quilt I finished this weekend.  It is a Baltimore Album from Mimi Dietrich book Baltimore Basics.  It took over two years to complete and I loved every minute I spent on it.

Blue and White Quilt

This is a quilt I made for our youngest son and his wife.  She loves blues and this quilt has a variety of blues.  Hope they enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it for two of the nicest people I know and love and two of the best parents any child could wish for.

Still Quilting

I have not been able to post for a very long time.  But I have been able to do a little work on my Christmas quilt (see previous blog post).  I have two sides to sew on of border #2 and then border #3 and the top should be completed.  Then to get it quilted!

I have also been hand quilting a Baltimore Album and I only lack the quilting on two of the borders.  This quilt has been in the process of "being completed" for over two years.

That will leave two unfinished quilt tops that I want to get finished this year.

My Sweetman and I are into a routine, for the present, that allows me to quilt a couple of hours each day.

To all my friends and fellow quilters.
Happy Quilting.

Christmas Quilt

My daughter thought she wanted to quilt for about two months, or maybe that was two weeks, or maybe two seconds.  She purchased a number of beautiful fabrics in Christmas colors and cut out a few four inch squares.  Then she decided she really wasn't into quilting and would stick to her scrapbooking and card designing.  She is really a pro at both of those.  Naturally she brought all of her fabrics over to me and asked if I could make a quilt from them.  They sat around for at least a year and then I found this block.  Love, love this block and so much fun to make.  These are the blocks I have to date.  I keep going to my stash pulling more fabrics out and the blocks just get more interesting.  Have no idea how many block I will end up making but I would like to have at least thirty and maybe more.
